Core Requirements:
- Database Migration Expertise: Must have hands-on experience in the replatforming space, specifically migrating databases such as Oracle to PostgreSQL or MSSQL to PostgreSQL.
- Architectural Leadership: Proven experience in defining DB migration strategies and approaches. You will be expected to lead a database team (consisting of DBAs and DB Developers) to optimize performance through indexing, partitioning, and other tuning methods.
- Schema Transformation: Ability to lead the transformation of existing SQL Views and Stored Procedures (SP) from source platforms to the target platform.
- AWS Cloud Skillset: Must have specific experience with PostgreSQL RDS in AWS.
- Tooling: Proficient in using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for both one-time full loads and incremental Change Data Capture (CDC) loading.
Database Platform Knowledge:
- Primary Focus: Best-case scenario is a combination of DB2 and PostgreSQL RDS experience.
Secondary Focus: While heavy DB2 knowledge is not strictly required, it is considered a strong “good to have.” - Candidates with a strong background in Oracle DB are also acceptable.
